MRH90s from the Australian Army's 5th Aviation Regiment and an embarked flight of MRH90s from the Royal Australian Navy (RAN)'s 808 Squadron, along with soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, are integrating with the RAN's landing helicopter dock (LHD) HMAS Canberra in a series of amphibious training activities in North Queensland from August through to October this year. Exercise Sea Series 2015 will enable the newest Australian military capability — the Amphibious Ready Element — to achieve an interim operational capability.
Separately, the RAN's second LHD, NUSHIP Adelaide, has successfully completed its final sea trials involving tests of its combat and communications systems in Port Phillip Bay in southern Victoria. Delivery of the ship to the RAN is expected to take place later this year.
