South Korea and the U.S. jointly held the largest ever live-fire exercise south of the Demilitarized Zone on 18th August following an escalation of tensions between North and South Korea recently. The display took place at Seungjin fire training field in Pocheon, 30 kilometers from the DMZ and involved more than 85 aircraft, 100 armoured vehicles, 120 artillery pieces and over 3,000 men.

The exercise featured aircraft from the U.S. and South Korean airforces releasing sizable amounts of ordnance while a mechanised assault took place with support provided from attack helicopters and artillery.
